Proverbs 6:6

"Be like the ant." This is a theme in the book of Proverbs. We often look for gurus in life and work. Maybe we should go out and learn from such a simple creature as the ant.

It's possible that this January, you made resolutions, however maybe not. Fewer and fewer people are because of the frustration they feel when we don't achieve them. When we do make resolutions, it's typically about the massive changes that we tell ourselves we intend to make in our life. However, most likely before Valentines candy is passed out, we are back to our old ways.

Maybe we need to learn from the ant. They model discipline and consistency better than most of us. Instead of aiming for a huge change in the short term, what if we went for small changes over the long term. That's a lesson we can learn from the ant.
