Proverbs 2:1-2

"My son, if you receive my words and treasure up my commandments with you, making your ear attentive to wisdom and inclining your heart to understanding" -Proverbs 2:1-2

We all have treasures. Maybe it's money, a photo album, a work of art. It's the thing that we love to talk about. It's what we like to think about in our free time. It's what we are most proud of. If you were honest, what do you treasure? What gets your attention and energy? Do you treasure God's word?

Most people view His words as burdensome, but the wise see them as a great treasure. If you want understanding (v9) and discretion (v10), it begins with choosing to treasure the words of God. It's as simple as creating a few minutes each day to read a few of God's words and choosing to incline our hearts to understanding.
